Position Summary: The Clergy Assistant and B’nai Mitzvah Assistant is an integral member of the IKAR team and works closely with our clergy. This person provides support to IKAR’s rabbis and Hazan/Music Director and serves as a liaison between B’nai Mitzvah families and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with B’nai Mitzvah families and staff to coordinate the B’nai Mitzvah process, including:
  • Organizing date selection process;
  • Serving as point person for all B’nai Mitzvah family needs;
  • Scheduling meetings with clergy;
  • Preparing materials for students and families in advance of meetings.
  • Manage calendars and provide general administrative support for four clergy members.
  • Participate in rotation to staff Shabbat services on occasional Friday nights and Shabbat mornings.

IKAR requires all employees to be current on CDC approved Covid vaccinations unless a reasonable accommodation is requested and approved.

Duration: Full time (non-exempt; includes some Friday nights, Saturday mornings, occasional holiday and evening hours)
